In this video, Senator and Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders explains that Social Security is not “going broke.” It is the most successful government program in history, and should be expanded.

Contrary to what the corporate media and the Republican candidates would have you believe, there is no need to privatize Social Security or cut benefits by raising the retirement age. Rather, we can afford to expand this vital program, simply by raising the cap on payroll taxes, so that the rich pay their fair share.
